Itinerary for Customers

Day 1 : Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) (-/-/-)

This morning the tour starts at 07:00 AM.

Pick up at hotel in Yangon and drive to Bago (84 km - 1½ hours). En route, visit a tree shrine dedicated to legendary animist spirits known as “Nats”, a handicraft village that produces woven bamboo wares. Then, visit the Allied War Graves cemetery near Htauk Kyant. Continue to Kin Pun Base Camp (110 km - 3½ hours) and onward to Kyaikhtiyo (the Golden Rock), a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaves and delicately balance on the edge of a cliff.

From Kin Pun, a steep and rough 11-km dirt road leads to the upper staging point, a journey made in open trucks, which can be very crowded. In the afternoon, take a local truck up to a bumpy track up to the mountain. (Private trucks are available at extra costs – please ask your guide to arrange) ascend some meters to the Golden Rock. On arrival, watch the beauty of a sunset at this important pilgrimage site.

Day 2: Kyaikhtiyo – Hpa An (B/-/-)

Early risers: A great opportunity to see the sunrise! Then, drive to Hpa An: the capital of Kayin State, homeland of the Kayin people. Hpa An is an energetic, friendly town on the banks of the Thanlwin River. The main attractions though are scattered around the beautiful surrounding countryside, making this an ideal area for relaxed touring. As approaching Hpa An, visit Bayin Nyi Cave and hot spring on the way. Arrive in Hpa An and check in the hotel. After refreshment, visit to Shwe Yin Hmyaw Pagoda, Kyaunk Kalap; the column or rock, standing sheer out of a lake makes this monastery, pagoda and Nat shrine, one of the most photographed spots in all Kayin State.

Overnight in Hpa An

Day 3: Hpa An (B/-/-)

After breakfast, your tour guide will take you to Lumbani Garden & Mount Zwekabin, the tallest of a chain of limestone-mountains, 2372 feet is crowned by a stupa, said to contain a hair relic of the Buddha. It’s a long walk to the top so we recommend an early start. If you arrive by 11am, you can witness the feeding of the mountain’s monkeys. The mountain boasts fantastic views over the Kayin country-side. Then visit Kawgone Cave, about eight miles south of Hpa An, the hidden gallery of the 7th Century artwork within the cave and Saddan Cave and Yathe Pyan (Hermit) Cave. Return to hotel

Overnight in Hpa An

Day 4: Hpa An – Mawlamyine (B/-/-)

After breakfast, drive to Mawlamyine. Mawlamyine is the 4th largest city of Myanmar as well as 1st capital of British Burma, boasting of intact colonial era buildings. Visit the Mon Cultural Museum with its displays of bronze, silverware ceramics and sculptures (closed on Sundays and Public Holidays).

Visit Mawlamyine Market and Kyeik Than Lan Pagoda to enjoy panoramic view of the city and to enjoy the sunset from Kyaik Thalan Pagoda.

Overnight in Mawlamyine

Day 5: Mawlamyine – Yangon (B/-/-)

After breakfast drive back to Yangon. On arrival, transfer to your hotel or the airport for your departure flight to Myanmar.

All cancellations must be made in writing and acknowledged by Wings & Wheels Travels and Tours. A 10% handling fee will be charged made 30 days or more prior to your arrival unless there are any charges or prepayments. Guide, car and entrance fees are fully refundable at any time before travel.
More than 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour price

Between 30 and 21 days before departure: 25% of total tour price
Between 20 and 8 days before departure: 50% of total tour price
Between 7 days and 48 hours before departure: 75% of total tour price
Less than 48 hours before departure: 100% of total tour price
